Graydon's "Niger River" painting was selected as a Top Ten winner in the CelebratingArt.com contest. It was judged against thousands of entries and was chosen as one of the ten best. You can see this recognition and all winners on their website.  Go to http://www.celebratingart.com/about-us.php

Graydon has completed his first ever Christmas series and paintings can be viewed on the Portfolio page. The money earned from these proceeds will help offset his costs toward another mission trip to Costa Rica. Please respond to this blog if you would like to help. Sets of 8 note cards and envelopes are $10.00
Thank you for your support.

Graydon's latest painting was for "Remember Niger". We love this organization because it helps feed and school children in Niger, Africa. It is so easy to help and such a good cause. Go to rememberniger.org to see how you can sponsor a child.

Way to go Graydon for being chosen to receive 2nd place in the Education category at the Community Pride of Charleston Luncheon, May 11th. It was an honor to receive this award and a fun day to have Grandmama and Granddaddy visit and enjoy the luncheon with us.

I have finished the Charleston Tea Plantation series. It includes the Green Giant, which is a one of a kind tea leaf harvester, a tea pot, Camellia Sinensis (tea flower) with a Tiger Swallowtail butterfly and my favorite, Wally, the irrigation pond's resident alligator.

I am happy to announce that the Charleston Tea Plantation series is almost complete. So far I have painted the tea flower (which is also called Camellia Sinensis) with a Tiger Swallowtail (state butterfly), the tea farm's irrigation pond with resident alligator Wally, and a tea pot and cup of tea. My last painting will be the tea harvester called the Green Giant. I hope to finish it within the next 2 weeks. Thank you for being patient with me and asking about my new work. I hope you like it.

I am once again excited to see my name in the paper. My mom and dad are taking me to Lego Land next week in Florida and then I am coming home to start 2 new art classes and my work for the Charleston Tea Plantation! Much excitement in the McKoy household! Graydon got his WEBELOS uniform today. He starts Cub Scouts the end of this month and then we will be selling more than notecards; we will also be selling popcorn for his den. Does anyone know what WEBELOS means? It means "we'll be loyal scouts". This might sound bias but I think he has some good qualities that he will be bringing to his new troop. I hope everyone has had a great summer. :)
